Located in the heart of the City of London near to the Bank of England, Chartered Accountants' Hall is home to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
The Hall was built in 1890 to the design of the eminent Victorian architect, Sir John Belcher RA.
As the Institute's membership and activities have grown the building has been extended. Once in the 1930s in a similar architectural style and again in the 1960s to a more modern design, by the architect Sir William Whitfield.
A Grade II listed building, Chartered Accountants' Hall attracts the attention of architectural students and historians and many of the original features have been retained and restored.
The exterior of the building features a carved stone frieze by Hamo Thorneycroft and the interior decoration includes works of art by Eduardo Paolozzi, Gerald Benney and John Piper.
The exterior featured in a A Warm December (1973)starring Sidney Poitier.
The Members' Room (An old Library) featured in The Secret Life of Ian Fleming (1990)
